About Strickland Bay

Book Direct with the Owner at Strickland Bay with Melbourne Tourism in Rottnest Island, for all your Attraction and travel needs.

Located on the western part of the island, Strickland Bay has ranked in the top 50 breaks in the world. It's a popular spot for surfing and boogie-boarding for tourists and locals. Each year, surfers flock to this spot to take advantage of the perfect water conditions. Wave conditions vary considerably depending on wind and swell so be sure to check the latest weather forecast. You can walk to Salmon Bay along the Wadjemup Bidi; a series of walk trails that will take you across spectacular coastal headlands, past inland lakes and man-made attractions. To visit Salmon Bay, head on the Wardan Nara Bidi section of the Wadjemup Bidi (10 kilometres one way/approximately three to four hours). This trail takes you along the coast of Salmon Bay to the middle of the Island to explore WWII guns and tunnels. Take in panoramic views from Wadjemup Lighthouse and continue west to the world-class surf break at Strickland Bay. Learn about Rottnest Island's surfing history by watching a short documentary accessed by scanning the QR code located on the informative sign or inside the surfing hut. The Wardan Nara Bidi was proudly supported by Rottnest Foundation working in partnership with BHP Billion....
