Greenstone is beautifully situated on a single site in the picturesque Yarra Valley, an hour’s drive from Melbourne. The Winery and Cellar Door, which are nestled in to the base of the Christmas Hills, have unparalleled views of the Estate vineyard and Great Dividing ranges. It is here that winemaking operations are carried out, making Greenstone one of the most progressive wineries in the valley.

Tucked away just off the Melba Hwy, Balgownie is a real gem. With spectacular views and a great display on the history of winemaking, this place has a lot to offer. The cellar door staff will share some of their great wines with you after which time you can relax and enjoy the view or wander around their facilities.

The cellar door which is a converted old hay shed is situated at the top of the hill, overlooking stunning views. This charming rustic cellar door, oozing with character is a fantastic environment to enjoy superb wines made with traditional winemaking techniques. The cellar door proudly showcases antique cooper tools used by pioneer winemakers over a century ago.

The Yarra Valley cool climate focus allows this winery to specialize in wine styles and varieties typical to northern Italy and south eastern France. Jone was an excellent tour guide, superb knowledge of wines, very friendly and welcoming all the way. The tour was so relaxing and well organised. Our family had such a wonderful time. 10/10! Def recommend!

Great lunch at Balgownie Estate! Overall had a great day was well worth the money, the last winery we went to soumah has a very nice Brachetto I recommend this a nice drop to finish the day

Overall, the tour was average. The day felt slightly rushed. Lunch lasted only 45 minutes which also included a wine tasting. We stopped at the Balgownie Estate Winery for lunch but it was unfortunate to learn that their restaurant had burnt down in October 2020. Because of this, we had to have lunch in a corporate tent, which wasn’t ideal as we couldn’t enjoy the nice views/sunshine. We felt that the tour could’ve been changed to stop at a different winery for lunch. Having said this, the bus driver was personable and the wine tour company was very responsive with our requests and accomodating of our large group.

Needing to go to the toilet used as a sense of urgency to drop us off quickly was the lowest point of the day. The driver passed numerous bathrooms and didn’t want to waste a minute on letting us relieve ourselves. Otherwise great day.

Enjoyed a full day Yarra Valley wine tour via Chill-Out Wine tours. We were collected on time by our driver for the day Ivan. Ivan’s knowledge of wine & the area we are in was excellent & the winery’s we visited were all fantastic. Lunch was at “Soumah” and included in the price, very enjoyable. I would recommend Chill-Out Wine Tours for anyone looking to experience the Yarra Valley wine region. A great day out.

Spent a lovely day at the Yarra Valley. Our driver Tony was very knowlegable and ensured that we all kept to the schedule. We visited for wineries at Greenstone, Balgownie, where we also had lunch, Yering and Soumah. We particularly enjoyed Soumah most as wines there was really good as was the setting. We were disappointed to find the day before our tour that there had been a change to the itinarary and that we would not be going to Domain Chandon (DM)which was the main place we wished to visit. Apparently some if not all private tours such as these are not currently accepted by the Winery. If anyone wishes to visit DM maybe they should go independently or with operator who can give assurances. Despite this we learnt a lot, had a great day, were lucky to find ourselves in a equally minded good group, sampling over 30 wines. Would recommend.

We had a beautiful day with beautiful scenery, beautiful wine & wineries & a fantastic tour guide, John who was most informative & friendly & had a great playlist on his bus! Highly recommended!

Tony our driver are the best. This whole experience was better than I expected. 💯 💯 💯 Really enjoyed my lunch as well, it's decent and delicious.
